MONROE, Mich. (AP) -- A woman accused of embezzling $2.1 million from a small credit union in Monroe County has pleaded guilty.
Sharon Broadway's guilty plea Friday was anticipated when she was charged just a few weeks ago. Authorities say she stole money for more than 20 years as the only employee at United Catholic Credit Union in Temperance, near the Ohio border.
The credit union was closed in August when problems were detected. Because of insurance, no depositor lost money.
The 61-year-old Broadway, a Toledo, Ohio, resident, faces up to 20 years in prison when she is sentenced Jan. 17 by Monroe County Judge Michael Weipert.
