The Texas Legislature adjourned Monday evening and then was called back into special session.
The 83rd Texas Legislature adjourned shortly after 5 p.m. Monday. By 6 p.m., they were back at work.
That's the time Gov. Rick Perry called the Legislature into Special Session to deal with federal court-mandated redistricting for Texas legislative districts.
According to a statement on the governor's official website, the Legislature will consider "legislation which ratifies and adopts the interim redistricting plans ordered by the federal district court as the permanent plans for districts used to elect members of the Texas House of Representatives, Texas Senate and United States House of Representatives."
The Senate was expected to reconvene Monday evening, while the House was expected to come back Tuesday, the Austin American-Statesman said.
